How It Works
The HS Series uses a 4-stage half blind impeller design across two flow rate ranges. Impellers are mounted with dual shaft flats for positive drive, important for pressure systems that start and stop frequently. Patented floating impeller neck rings reduce hydraulic noise and improve efficiency.
The built-in air purging valve removes air from the pump and suction during priming and normal operation, making installation quicker and reducing the risk of the pump running in a partial-prime condition. The Torrium2 controller monitors system pressure and adapts pump output continuously, with no cycling, consistent pressure, and built-in protection if the pump loses its water supply.
Suitable for: household and domestic water supply, irrigation and water transfer, washing systems, and pressure boosting applications.
Note: pressure boosting applications are subject to local regulations. Check with your plumber before installation.

FAQs
How do I choose between the HS50-06T and HS60-08T?
Both models have the same maximum system pressure and total head. The difference is flow capacity, the HS60-08T delivers up to 110 lpm compared to 80 lpm for the HS50-06T. If you have a larger home or multiple outlets running simultaneously, the HS60-08T is the better choice.
How is the HS Series different from the HP Series?
Both use the Torrium2 controller and stainless steel construction. The HS Series uses a 4-stage multistage design, which delivers higher pressure, up to 700 kPa maximum system pressure, compared to the HP Series. It's better suited to multi-storey homes, properties with significant elevation, or longer pipe runs.
What does the Torrium2 controller do?
It adapts pump output continuously to match demand, rather than switching on and off as pressure drops. This means consistent pressure at every outlet, no cycling noise, and built-in protection if the pump loses its water supply or overheats.
What does AS/NZS 4020 certification mean?
It means the pump system, including all materials in contact with the water, has been independently certified to meet the standard for products used in contact with drinking water. This covers taste, appearance, microbial growth, and the release of compounds into the water.
Can I use it with rainwater or tank water?
Yes, provided the water is clean and non-volatile. The maximum suction head is 6m. For suction lift installations, a good quality foot valve is required; the in-built check valve should be removed in these cases.
Does it have an air purging valve?
Yes. The built-in air purging valve removes air from the pump and suction during priming and normal operation, making installation easier and reducing the risk of partial-prime operation.
Do I need a plumber to install it?
Professional installation by a licensed plumber is recommended. The pump connects via standard BSP fittings. Pressure boosting applications may be subject to local regulations.
Can I pair it with a water filter?
Yes. A whole-house filter installed upstream protects the pump from sediment and extends its service life.
What warranty applies?
2 years, backed by Davey's NZ dealer network.
Why do both models share the same max system pressure and total head despite different power ratings?
Max system pressure and total head are structural and hydraulic limits tied to the 4-stage impeller design shared by both pumps, not to motor output. Motor power instead determines how much flow the pump can push while working toward those same limits, which is why the HS60-08T's extra power shows up as higher flow rather than higher pressure or head.
Why is there such a gap between full load current and locked rotor current?
Locked rotor current, 12.0A for the HS50-06T and 18.0A for the HS60-08T, is the brief surge drawn at startup before the motor reaches running speed. Full load current, 3.8A and 4.9A respectively, is what the motor draws once running normally. Circuit protection and wiring need to account for the higher startup figure, not just the running current, to avoid nuisance tripping.
What do the neck ring materials do, and does it affect running noise?
The polypropylene and PTFE neck rings work alongside the patented floating impeller design to reduce friction and hydraulic noise between the impeller and casing. This is part of what keeps the HS Series quieter than a fixed neck ring design, alongside the double contact C3-HTG sealed bearings.
